This 4-day journey through Rapa Nui offers a rich blend of cultural history, archaeology, and natural beauty. Begin with visits to iconic sites like Ahu Akivi and Tahai, where Moai statues tell ancient legends. Explore the island’s most sacred locations on a full-day tour, including the Moai quarry at Rano Raraku, the impressive Ahu Tongariki, and the scenic Anakena Beach. On your final day, ascend Rano Kau volcano and visit the ceremonial village of Orongo, center of the Birdman cult, before wrapping up with visits to ancient stone platforms and painted sea caves.

Upon arrival at Mataveri Airport, a local representative will greet you with a warm welcome and transfer you to your hotel. Take some time to settle in and prepare for your first taste of the island’s mysteries.
In the afternoon, begin your exploration with a visit to Ahu Akivi, one of the few Moai platforms where the statues face the ocean. According to legend, these seven Moai represent the scouts sent to Rapa Nui by the founding king, Hotu Matu’a.
Continue to the unrestored Ahu Hanga Poukura, then head to Puna Pau, the quarry where the distinctive red stone “topknots” (Pukaos) were carved. End the day at Tahai, a ceremonial complex featuring three Ahu platforms, remains of boat houses, and the only Moai on the island with restored eyes.Overnight at Hare Uta Hotel.

Today, embark on a full-day journey through the island’s most iconic and sacred sites.
Begin along the southern coast with visits to Ahu Vaihu and Ahu Akahanga, thought to be the burial site of Hotu Matu’a himself. Continue to Rano Raraku, the volcanic quarry where nearly 900 Moai were carved—around 400 remain scattered across the slopes or partially buried in time.
Next, stand before the majestic Ahu Tongariki, the island’s largest restored platform with 15 imposing Moai lined up against the Pacific.
On the east coast, visit Te Pito Kura, home to the largest Moai ever transported and the legendary “Navel of the World” stone. Conclude the day at the serene Anakena Beach, where restored platforms Ahu Nau Nau and Ahu Ature Huke meet white sand and turquoise waters. Enjoy time for a refreshing swim before returning to your hotel.

This morning, ascend the slopes of Rano Kau, an extinct volcano offering panoramic views of the island and a dramatic crater lake. From there, continue to Orongo Ceremonial Village, perched on the crater’s edge. This sacred site was once the center of the Tangata Manu, or Birdman cult, and is adorned with petroglyphs that tell the stories of ancient competitions and rites of passage. Gaze out over the cliffs toward the three islets of Motu Nui, Motu Iti, and Motu Kao Kao.
On the way back, visit Ahu Vinapu, a site whose precise stonework has led some to speculate connections with pre-Incan architecture. End the tour at Ana Kai Tangata, a sea cave decorated with faded cave paintings, before returning to the hotel.
